Group 1 winner at 2 yrs but well held in Derby 12 months ago. Back on track when landing Group 3 at Newmarket following month before good third in German Group 1. Left tame reappearance behind when runner-up in Group 3 at Sandown 6 weeks ago but needs to step up again. Rain would help.
Much improved last season but was only seventh in the Derby after winning the Trial here on return. Better than ever with headgear applied when winning Group 2 at Newmarket 5 weeks ago but that was a weak race for the grade. Others more likely.
Most impressive winner of the King Edward at Royal Ascot last summer. Not seen to best effect when runner-up in 3 Group 1s after, including in Sheema Classic at Meydan on return. Excellent opportunity for him to open his account at this level.
St Leger winner in 2023 but failed to hit the same heights last year and it's been a similar story in 4 outings this spring. Likely pacemaker for stablemate Jan Brueghel.
Took his form to another level last season, winning 3 times, the highlight coming in the Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin. Respected on that form but he was 5 lengths behind Calandagan in the Sheema Classic on return.
Unraced at 2 but won all 4 starts last season, notably the St Leger at Doncaster. Unsuited by emphasis on speed when losing unbeaten record at the Curragh on return and better expected now.
Pulled too hard when upped in trip for the St Leger final start but was progressive prior to that, winning Irish Oaks at the Curragh before good second in Yorkshire Oaks. Type to make a better 4-y-o so not taken lightly.

Forecasts
Calandagan (8/13), Jan Brueghel (10/3), Giavellotto (11/2), Ancient Wisdom (22/1), Bellum Justum (33/1), You Got To Me (40/1), Continuous (66/1)
An excellent opportunity for the high-class CALANDAGAN to record a first Group 1 win having not been seen to best effect when runner-up on his last 3 starts at this level. The likely strong pace will suit St Leger winner Jan Brueghel and he rates the main threat ahead of Hong Kong Vase winner Giavellotto.
