Modest handicapper at best on Flat (stays 1½m) who made more impact than previously over hurdles when second in 7-runner novice at Kelso in February. Took a strong hold when failing to last home on handicap debut at Perth in April. On a tough mark and will need to settle better.

Fairly useful bumper winner, the bare form of his hurdling debut (on final start for Willie Mullins) reads well in this company. Will need to improve on what's he shown for current connections but did shape better than the result suggests on handicap debut last month. Interesting contender.

Last win came over fences at the back end of 2023 but bounced right back to form over hurdles when runner-up in 2m2f Kelso handicap 12 days ago. Looks set to run another big race if in similar form here.

Fair dual 1m Flat winner for David O'Meara. Found it tough going on handicap hurdle debut at Sedgefield (16.8f) in April prior to underwhelming effort returned to the Flat last month. Still lightly-raced in this sphere but may require further leniency from the handicapper.

Best effort over hurdles when runner-up in a novice handicap over this C&D in September. Failed to justify strong support on latest hurdles outing but has performed creditably over fences this season. Reverts to hurdles with cheekpieces refitted and could be worth another chance.

Down the field all 3 starts over hurdles. Likely to be the stable second string but worth a market check starting life in handicaps from a very low base.

Poor form to date but did head the market when last seen disappointing in a 16.8f Sedgefield handicap in January, possibly unsuited by the testing ground/shorter trip. Low mileage but will need to improve to win this from out of the handicap on return.

Verdict

Returning to the scene of his best hurdles run to date when runner-up over this C&D, TROPICAL TALENT could be worth another chance with headgear refitted. Portcammon mixed it in better company than this when trained by Willie Mullins and there were signs of promise in his most recent outing for current connections. He's feared, particularly if the market speaks in his favour, while Guillaume warrants plenty of respect having bounced right back to form last time.
