Added to maiden/novice wins when landing a 3m Ascot handicap hurdle in November. Ran poorly (found to have bled) at Carlisle the following month and fared little better back from a break in March. Hopes pinned on first-time hood/switch to fences helping her to get back on the right path.

Fair winning hurdler who made it 3-7 in this sphere when landing a small-field Ludlow handicap (2½m, good to firm) last month. 2 lb rise no great hardship and she should have a big part to play.

Three wins from 5 runs last season. 4/1, career best when winning 7-runner handicap chase at Warwick (24f, good) 1 days ago, impressively. Carries penalty. On a lenient mark.

Made a fine start for Fergal O'Brien, winning 3 of her first 4 starts over hurdles in 2023. Runner-up on chase debut at Worcester last summer, but she hasn't been in the same form since and again looks vulnerable.

Winless since taking a Ludlow mares' handicap in May 2023, but found just one too good in 10-runner event at Hereford (21f, good) on latest start/final run for Katy Price and she could be a factor if ready to roll following a break.

Forecasts

Harrys Hope (5/4), Scarlet O'Tara (5/2), Lady Jago (11/2), Police Academy (6/1), Lost Connections (12/1)

Verdict

This step back up in trip could be just what the doctor ordered for LOST CONNECTIONS, who was a solid second at Hereford when last seen during the autumn and she may well go one better if fully tuned-up. Lady Jago is feared most and Police Academy is taken to claim minor place money, given that Harrys Hope was impressive at Warwick on Wednesday.
