Son of Wootton Bassett who ran up to best when third of 11 in maiden at Southwell (12f) when last seen in November. Gelded ahead of return but this looks no easy task conceding plenty of weight to a host of 3-y-os.

Bred to be useful and he was much improved from debut after 7 months off when fourth of 8 in novice at Newmarket (8f, good to firm, 12/1) 19 days ago. Further progress very much on the cards with this step up in trip expected to hold no fears.

4/5
Night of Thunder colt who found only one too good on each of his 3 starts at 2 yrs, edged out only by a subsequent listed scorer on latest of them at York (7.9f) in October. Very much sets the standard on return now stepping up in trip. Big shout.

Forecasts

Ride The Thunder (4/5), Mukhtalif (11/4), Eternal Force (6/1), Spanish Train (17/2), Padesha (22/1), Minnesota (25/1)

Verdict

RIDE THE THUNDER showed more than enough in a trio of starts at around 1m as a juvenile to think a race of this nature is well within reach and he's fancied to make a bold bid on return/tackling this longer trip. Spanish Train looks a sure-fire improver following an encouraging debut run on AW, whilst Eternal Force and Mukhtalif are others to factor in representing the William Haggas stable.
