Fair hurdler but hasn't looked a natural over fences having failed to complete in 4 of his half-a-dozen previous starts in this sphere.

Much-improved on back of a wind op when getting off the mark over fences in 7-runner Southwell handicap (24.3f, good to soft) last month. Stamina gave way in the closing stages upped to 29f at Fakenham since, but that was still a creditable effort and he's a big player back down in trip here.

Raised her game when landing a Hereford handicap hurdle in March and followed up on chase debut at Plumpton the following month, despite some suspect jumping. However, issues in the jumping department have well and truly surfaced since and she looks risky. Cheekpieces applied.

Scored at Perth in September and followed that with a string of respectable efforts in defeat. Pulled up when last seen at Plumpton in March, but it's easy to forgive what was a rare poor effort and he could be a factor if on-song here with the visor refitted.

Hurdles winner at Hereford in November and positive start in this sphere when a clear second on recent chase debut at Ffos Las (2m, good). This step back up in trip could be a good move and she merits respect off an untouched mark.

Stepped up on chase debut display when landing a 7-runner handicap over C&D in April. Bolted up back hurdling at Hereford 3 days later and while he failed in his hat-trick bid at Ludlow, this 6-y-o remains unexposed as a chaser.

Forecasts

Culligran (9/5), Fever Dream (11/4), Pooroldmackley (7/2), Thank You Blue (15/2), Limerick Leader (9/1), The Dream Goes On (16/1)

Verdict

The vote goes to FEVER DREAM, who has seemingly turned the corner since undergoing wind surgery, following his breakthrough success over fences at Southwell with an equally good effort when third at Fakenham where the 29f trip proved to be a stretch. Provided he copes with this significant decrease in distance (Southwell win was at around 3m), the 7-y-o should prove a tough nut to crack. Pooroldmackley is second choice ahead of Culligran and Limerick Leader.
