Three-time winner in 2023/24 and returned to form when second of 6 at Uttoxeter in March. Found things tougher back up in grade when fourth of 9 at Chepstow (19.4f, good to firm) a month ago, but no surprise to see him fare better back at this level.

Last win came back in November 2022 but made the frame 4 times in 2024/25, leaving behind a lesser effort when runner-up at Doncaster (20.5f, good to soft) when last seen in December. On a handy mark so this C&D winner is one to note on return.

Previous C&D winner who ran respectably in first-time cheekpieces when third at Fontwell in March. Unable to justify support (4/1) when fourth of 9 at Perth (20.1f, soft) last time, but he's a major player back down in grade at this track.

Fair winner over hurdles and left his chasing debut form well behind when third of 7 in handicap at Stratford (19.4f, good) in July last year. Needs to find more again on his return from lengthy absence.

Fair form at best over hurdles for Ben Pauling in 2022/23 before missing the following season. Has got back to that level on last 2 starts, landing a Warwick maiden (19f, good) a month ago. Winning Irish pointer so he could be in the mix on chasing debut.

Veteran chaser who showed signs of revival with cheekpieces refitted when fourth of 7 at Warwick (29.2f) in March. However, has failed to build on that effort in 2 starts since, fifth of 8 back at Warwick (20f, good) 18 days ago. Others more persuasive.

Forecasts

Next Left (6/4), Sageburg County (11/4), Rock On Cowboy (4/1), Northern Bound (17/2), Cap Du Nord (14/1), Soldat Forte (14/1)

Verdict

NEXT LEFT returns to a course and distance where he's been successful previously and should appreciate this drop back in grade after his fourth-placed finish at Perth a month ago. He is taken to resume winning ways, though Sageburg County ran well when second at Uttoxeter on his penultimate start and is feared most, ahead of C&D winner Northern Bound.
