Looked a different proposition dropped to 5f when winning 9-runner handicap at Ascot (firm) 22 days ago, able to channel his enthusiasm much more efficiently over the minimum trip. Has to be shortlisted from 6 lb higher mark.

Won at Doncaster last season for Karl Burke and shaped really well from an uncompromising position on his first run for new connections at Wolverhampton in December, just failing to reel in one ridden more prominently. Off since but remains of interest for yard that does well with new acquisitions.
Ended 2024 in good heart and with a comeback run under his belt, arguably shaped best when a close fourth of 13 in handicap at Thirsk (5f, good) 19 days ago, getting a gap only well inside the final 1f. Player.
Won 3 times last season, including twice at Goodwood, but ended the term in a bit of lull. Others make more appeal returning from 6 months off in a first-time tongue tie.
Successful 3 times during a good 3-y-o campaign and has began this season in good form, runner-up at Beverley on his comeback before doing well under the circumstances to fill the same position after meeting trouble behind Blue Day at Ascot (5f, firm, 7/2) 22 days ago. In the mix again.
C&D winner was a creditable second on return at Musselburgh and having held excuses for finishing down the field there next time, confirmed himself as still in good form when runner-up at Thirsk (5f, good to firm, 3/1) 5 days ago. Not discounted.
Won at Southwell in December and ran respectably on his next 2 outings but has been below that level on his last 3 outings. Blinkers retained here and others are preferred.

Forecasts
Blue Day (2/1), Curious Rover (4/1), Archduke Ferdinand (4/1), Duran (9/2), Grandlad (12/1), Brooklyn Nine Nine (12/1), Harvanna (12/1)
Cases can be made for several here but BLUE DAY looked a natural dropped back to 5f when scoring at Ascot and he can defy a 6 lb rise to follow up. Duran didn't get the cleanest of runs when chasing the selection home last time and rates as the main threat, with Archduke Ferdinand also considered having been unlucky not to collect at Thirsk earlier in the month.
