Dual bumper winner who struck at the third time of asking over hurdles in 2¾m Stratford novice last May. Seemed to excel himself under a hold-up ride when second in the Grade 1 Sefton at Aintree prior to disappointing in a listed event at Perth. This is obviously less competitive.

Resumed winning ways after a breathing operation over C&D in July. Disappointing last 3 starts but could bounce back after a break (has gone well fresh before).

Made it 3 wins in 5 starts when striking on 23f Worcester reappearance last June. Solid efforts in defeat have followed and solid chance if picking up where he left off 8 months earlier.

Still capable of useful form despite his veteran status and turned in his best effort for a while to score for the first time in almost 2 years in 11-runner event at Wetherby (19.7f) in February. Not disgraced at this venue 11 weeks on and should remain competitive back up in trip.

Proved to be a disappointment in first-time cheekpieces when last of 3 in novice chase at Leicester (20.1f, soft, 18/5) 140 days ago, checking out as if possibly amiss. Back over hurdles for handicap debut.

Built on the promise of his stable debut at the second attempt when winning 12-runner handicap hurdle (15/2) at Perth (26.6f, soft) 22 days ago, driven out. Tongue strap back on. Has to be taken seriously in follow-up bid.

Forecasts

Minella Rescue (2/1), Secret Trix (11/4), Wa Wa (5/1), Bucko's Boy (5/1), West To The Bridge (13/2), Farnoge (14/1)

Verdict

WA WA built on his stable debut promise at the second attempt when scoring narrowly at Perth last month and is the percentage call to follow up from a 5 lb higher mark. Jamie Snowden has his team in excellent order at present and Bucko's Boy is sure to pose a big threat if picking up where he left off 8 months earlier, while Minella Rescue will find this more suitable than his latest assignment at Perth.
