8-y-o who boasts a good strike rate and proved himself better than ever after 4 months off when winning 7-runner handicap hurdle at Perth (20.2f, soft) 22 days ago. Definite possibilities again up 4 lb.

Gained a first success since his 2023 Betfair Hurdle win when landing a decent 2m Ascot handicap in November. Failed to fire next 3 starts but backed up a good second over hurdles when third in Sussex Champion Chase at Plumpton (17f) 25 days ago. Respected returned to timber.
66/1 winner of this race from 3 lb lower mark 12 months ago and back on scoresheet at Kempton (21f) in November. However, essentially out of sorts in 4 starts since and refitting of a hood (applied for all career victories) needs to spark a revival.
Had a very good 2023/24 season, winning 3 of his 6 starts. Not got his head in front since but he ran well when fifth in big-field handicap at the National Meeting prior to a creditable fourth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Sandown (19.8f) 20 days ago, needing stronger gallop. Fancied to feature.
Produced a fluent round of jumping from the front when regaining winning thread at Newcastle (20.3f) in March and matched that level from 5 lb higher mark when runner-up at Kelso (20.9f) 24 days ago, edged out close home. Likely to give his best again from the front.
Dual winner in juvenile hurdles and much improved sent chasing, winning first 3 starts towards end of 2023. Struggled in trio of starts last year but firm step back in right direction after 4 months off when midfield in 16-runner Cheltenham handicap 4 weeks ago. Not ruled out back up in trip.

Forecasts
Ike Sport (15/8), Rambo T (7/2), Aucunrisque (7/2), Fingal's Hill (6/1), Arclight (6/1), Pyramid Place (14/1)
Competitive despite the small field with IKE SPORT put forward as the suggestion. He ran well when fifth in a big-field handicap at the National Meeting on his penultimate start and backed that up with a solid fourth at Sandown 3 weeks ago. Operating from a handy mark, he can come out on top, with Perth scorer Rambo T and Aucunrisque just a couple of potential threats.
