Off time: 16:10 | Winning time: 5m 4.67s

Hecouldbetheone^v¹⁷

Age: 8| Weight: 12-1| J: Cameron Iles| T: James Owen| OR: 121| CD

5/4

Has been revitalised by this yard, adding to his tally in a headgear switch in 3-runner C&D handicap on penultimate start. Respectable fifth in a deeper race at Warwick (19f) 17 days ago and he's likely to be competitive again.

Broderick^p³⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-5| J: Lewis Saunders| T: J Candlish| OR: 111

13/2

Fortunate winner of a Newcastle maiden hurdle (16.9f) in January but good second in novice at Doncaster (19.4f, good) a month later. Seemed to find stamina stretched when third tackling extended 21f at Exeter 6 weeks ago and better showing not ruled out here.

Form: 921223-

Don Rafael²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 10-13| J: Freddie Keighley⁽⁸⁾| T: M Keighley| OR: 105| BF

11/4

Maiden hurdle winner at Stratford in July and doubled his tally in handicap at Hereford in November. Mixed bag in trio of starts since, fading out of things from 2 out when sixth of 10 in handicap hurdle at Bangor (19.6f, good) 29 days ago. Bounce back called for.

Form: 231946-

D'jo Dela Barriere¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Ellis Collier⁽³⁾| T: Evan Williams| OR: 104

4/1

Hereford novice winner in November but hasn't really made an impact in handicaps since, off the bridle long way out when sixth of 7 in handicap hurdle at Taunton (19f, good, 9/2) 18 days ago. Mark is easing all the time least.

Form: 584886-

Flimsy Nosebag⁴²

Age: 5| Weight: 10-8| J: Benjamin Macey⁽³⁾| T: N J Gifford| OR: 100

16/1

Placed on second of 3 starts in bumpers. Well beaten first 2 starts over hurdles though, and whilst he showed first form when third on qualifying run at Ascot (19.3f) 6 weeks ago, that doesn't appeal as the most robust piece of form. Makes handicap debut now.

Form: 7/35P93-

Forecasts

Hecouldbetheone (5/4), Don Rafael (11/4), D'jo Dela Barriere (4/1), Broderick (13/2), Flimsy Nosebag (16/1)

C&D winner HECOULDBETHEONE was far from disgraced when fifth in a stronger race at Warwick 17 days ago and he looks a sound player here operating from the same mark. Broderick and Don Rafael may emerge as the pair to give the selection most to think about.
