Waldgeist colt who overcame inexperience to make a winning start in 1m Bath maiden and showed even better form in defeat in conditions event at Epsom next time. Ran no sort of race upped in grade at Newmarket on final outing and left Simon & Ed Crisford's yard for 80,000 gns after and gelded.

Consistent at 2 yrs and solid start to this season when runner-up in a competitive Kempton handicap (1m). Failed to give his running upped to this trip at Newmarket last month but was possibly unsuited by conditions.
Churchill colt who made the most of a good opportunity in 9.5f Wolverhampton maiden in January. Took a big step forward switched to a handicap when second at Doncaster (10.2f) 10 weeks later and likely to go well again.
Well backed and showed much improved form to get off the mark in 7-runner nursery at Southwell (7.1f, 13/2) in November, leading near line. That race hasn't really worked out however, so others hold stronger claims.
450,000 gns yearling, Frankel colt who made the most of his experience to get off the mark in 10-runner novice at Lingfield (1m, AW) in November, all out having gone on over 2f out. Bred to be suited by the longer trip and can go on improving.
Showed improved form upped in trip when off the mark on turf/handicap debut in 6-runner event at Beverley (9.9f, good to soft) 24 days ago, keeping on well. 4 lb higher in a better race here, but there's potentially more to come given he's not yet the finished article by any means.

Chartwell Jock (13/8), Cape Breton (2/1), Kokanee (9/2), Brindavan (8/1), Law Of Design (10/1), Caledonian (12/1), The Green Mile (25/1)
It has to be viewed as a positive that CAPE BRETON was able to win over a sharp 1m on his final start at 2 yrs given it was a barely adequate test and, with his pedigree strongly pointing towards further improvement over this sort of trip, he's taken to make a successful handicap debut. Chartwell Jock and Kokanee have both made good starts to their careers in handicaps and they head the opposition.
