Flat winner for Thomas Faulkne rand has taken well to hurdling for his current yard, off the mark in a Hereford novices' handicap (16.2f, good) last time. 5 lb rise fair enough and likely to give another good account.
Showed ability amidst greenness when fifth of 8 in bumper. However, he hasn't troubled the judge in 3 starts over hurdles and while this switch to handicap company could help bring about some improvement, he will need to sharpen up on his jumping if he's to make his mark in this sphere.
Runner-up 3 times on the bounce over hurdles in first half of 2024, including over this C&D, but he hasn't kicked on in a handful of appearances (over fences the last twice) since returning from a break in October and hopes now pinned on the first-time cheekpieces working the oracle.
Winless following 8 attempts between the flags and his form in this sphere to date is below the level required to make a winning handicap debut here.
Progressed again to justify support under a positive ride in first-time cheekpieces in 17f Sedgefield mares' maiden hurdle last month. However, once again exhibited her temperamental side when beaten a fair way into fourth at Stratford 10 days later and she's probably worth taking on.
Blotted his copybook by refusing to race at Warwick in February but has some decent placed efforts to his name, not least when third on penultimate start at Ffos Las. Others make more appeal for win purposes but he's certainly not without each-way hope.
Runner-up 3 times in handicap hurdles earlier this year before tailing off on chase debut at Hereford in March. Below par back hurdling in a first-time visor next time but hood now refitted and he's capable of a bold show if he puts his best foot forward.
Runner-up twice in maiden hurdles last summer, including when just touched off over this C&D in September. Not in the same form since, though, failing to threaten back in maiden company when returning from a break at Hereford a fortnight ago.
Little impact in 5 starts to date and he's a long way out of the weights for this handicap debut.

Forecasts
Indemnity (2/1), Dirty Den (3/1), Scintillante (9/2), Renoir (9/2), Ascension Day (11/2), Land Girl's Luck (13/2), Katana (17/2), Estate Planning (9/1), Blackijo Dagrostis (25/1), Saddlers Dream (50/1)
The vote goes to RENOIR, who pulled well clear of the rest with the runner-up when opening his hurdles account at the fourth attempt at Hereford and he may well have more to offer. Dirty Den will be a threat if at his best, while Estate Planing could pick up some more minor place money. The caveat is that if Indemnity bypasses his engagement at Warwick on Monday and lines up here, he will supplant Renoir as the selection following his clear-cut handicap debut success at Huntingdon last month.
