Course winner. Cheekpieces on for 1st time, seventeenth of 21 in handicap at Doncaster (8f, good, 17/2) 30 days ago (first run since being gelded). Back up in trip and, having finished a close third off 1 lb higher over this C&D in October, he's one to consider.
25/1, first run since leaving Richard Hughes when last of 5 in handicap at Musselburgh (9f, good) 9 days ago. This is a lower-grade handicap but she makes limited appeal all the same.
Respectable sixth of 12 in handicap (7/1) at Newmarket (8f, good) when last seen in September. Back up in trip on debut for new yard and she could have a part to play if raring to go.
Sixth of 7 in handicap at Newcastle (10.2f, 100/1) 18 days ago and this 6-y-o looks up against it once again.
14/1, fourth of 9 in handicap at Redcar (7f, soft). Off 174 days and significantly back up in trip here. Others preferred for win purposes.
Last of 9 in handicap (11/1) at Chelmsford City (10f) 25 days ago. Too free on that occasion and will need to settle better here if he's to play a part in the finish.
Dual C&D winner in 2024. Last of 12 in handicap (13/2) back over this C&D (good) on final start of last season. Record is starting to look somewhat patchy but he'll be a threat if on-song following a 6-month break.
80/1, tenth of 11 in handicap at this course (7.2f, good to firm) when last seen 7 months ago. Significantly back up in trip and it's easy enough to look elsewhere.
C&D winner. 33/1, ninth of 12 in handicap at this C&D (heavy). No doubt capable of a bold show off this mark (currently 4 lb lower than when recording latest success at Musselburgh in June 2023) but her wellbeing has to be taken on trust following 18 months off. Yard also saddles Ayr Poet.
Five-time course winner. Latest win at Musselburgh in October. 66/1, eleventh of 12 in handicap at Newcastle (8f). Off 140 days and now steps back up in trip. On a good mark but his record when fresh suggests that this may not be the time to lend him support.

Forecasts
Spirit Of Acklam (6/5), Sea Regal (4/1), Curran (7/1), Can't Stop Now (15/2), Cougar (12/1), Cavallo Pazzo (12/1), Sophiesticate (20/1), Ayr Poet (22/1), Samra Star (50/1), Chiefman (80/1)
The vote goes to SPIRIT OF ACKLAM, who was lit up by the first-time cheekpieces when down the field on his seasonal reappearance at Doncaster but, with that run under his belt, he will hopefully be more tractable this time. The 4-y-o was beaten just ½-length when third to Can't Stop Now over this C&D during the autumn and now meets that rival on 5 lb better terms. Can't Stop Now will nevertheless have a chance if on-song but Sea Regal is feared most on debut for the David O'Meara yard.
- Sea Regal4/1
- Can't Stop Now15/2
