Very much in the doldrums over fences for Nigel Twiston-Davies during second half of last year and it's been similar story in 3 runs for new yard. Hopes pinned on the first-time visor helping to spark a return to form.

More miss than hit since latest success at Musselburgh last November but, on the upside, he's slipped to an appealing mark and will be a danger to all if able to bounce back.

Has shown signs of ability in maiden hurdles at Down Royal and an Ayr novice when last seen in February. Interesting that he is quickly switched to fences and the market will likely be informative on chase debut.

Bounced back to best when scoring at Musselburgh in November 2023 but nowhere near that level in 3 subsequent starts and he's opposable on the back of an 11-month absence.

Bagged a 17f handicap here off a 6 lb higher mark last spring but it's been all downhill since.

Fairly useful maiden chaser in Ireland. Best effort for new yard from a falling mark when close second over 2½m at Musselburgh in February and, though not in the same form next time, he has to be taken seriously.

Opened his account in a Newcastle handicap chase (2½m, good to soft) on second start for this yard in January but has followed that with a couple of poor efforts (pulled up on both occasions).

Dual hurdles winner for Iain Jardine in summer 2023 and belatedly opened chase account at Newcastle (2½m, good) where she was given a sound tactical ride by Pippa Brown. Ran at least as well in defeat under a penalty at Sedgefield since and another bold show is anticipated.

Still a maiden and while he would have an each-way chance if reproducing his peak form, one or two of these are more appealing from a win perspective.

In current form PURE SURF looks the way to go. The 9-y-o has quicky established a good relationship with amateur rider Pippa Brown, winning at Newcastle and then going close at Sedgefield in recent weeks, and she remains on a plausible mark. Low Mileage will be a threat if able to bounce back from a low-key effort last time and chase/handicap debutant Instinct d'Ainay is also of interest.
