High-class chaser at best but lost his way for Harry Whittington. Below form after 11 months off when remote second at Hereford last March (first start for Richard Bandey) and found to be lame at Huntingdon a couple of months later. Watching brief advised having moved yards again since.
Made a successful start for Harriet Dickin over fences at Plumpton on Easter Monday last year. Not quite hit those heights since however, including on 4 outings for C. Von Der Recke. Tongue tie reapplied on return/first outing for his new handler.
Came good at a similar stage last year but is still 2 lb above the second of those winning marks and is yet to recapture his form this season. Back down in trip but others more appealing for win purposes.
Workmanlike winner of 2m maiden hurdle at Wetherby (heavy) last season. Didn't last long on his first start over the larger obstacles (unseated rider first) at this C&D (good) just over 5 weeks ago but he should make a chaser.
Scored at Wincanton in 12 months ago but failed to recapture that level of form on 4 subsequent outings over the summer, over doing front-running tactics when last seen at Market Rasen (17.2f, good to firm) in July. Has rejoined his former handler and the hood goes back on.
Won a pair of handicap chases in 2023/24 and has bettered that form this season, winning his first 3 starts (over hurdles on second occasion). Has found just one too strong on his last couple of starts and he warrants considerable respect in his current mood.

Ideallko (11/10), Sao Carlos (10/3), El Muchacho (9/2), Alto Alto (5/1), Gower Prince (13/2), Doyouknowwhatimean (11/1), Rouge Vif (28/1)
Preference is for IDEALLKO, who hasn't looked back since returning on New Year's Eve and Evan Williams' 7-y-o can notch his fourth success of the campaign at the expense of Sao Carlos, who didn't last long on his first try over fences over C&D last month but should make a chaser. El Muchacho, who makes his first start for the in-form Olly Murphy, completes the shortlist.
