Had dropped below last winning mark and took advantage in emphatic fashion when bolting up in 8-runner event at Lingfield (23.5f, soft) in February. Latest fourth at Chepstow over a marathon trip wasn't a bad effort by any means but he's probably summed up by present mark.
Successful at Hereford in February and placed both completed starts since, most recently finishing a creditable third of 9 off a 1 lb higher mark at Chepstow (23.6f, good). High on the shortlist.
Capitalised on lower hurdles mark at Chepstow in February but disappointed back in this sphere at Wincanton the following month. Needs to get back on track but dangerous to discount given that he won 3 times over fences (twice off higher marks than this) last spring, including over C&D.
French import who was successful in a juvenile hurdle at Hereford in March 2023. However, she has failed to trouble the judge in 5 runs over fences since returning from a lengthy absence in December and is probably worth taking on, for all that her mark continues on a southward trajectory.
Placed in several handicap chases last winter and reappearance fourth at Leicester in December was a respectable effort. Well held both subsequent starts (over hurdles last time) but he will certainly have a chance off this reduced mark if able to get back on track.
Winning pointer who opened her account over fences here (21f, soft) in September. Best effort since when third in a 6-runner Taunton handicap back from a break 10 days ago but she merely plugged on past beaten horses that day and is opposable on balance.
Maiden hurdler who took really well to fences in 2023, bagging handicaps over this C&D and at Wincanton during the autumn of that year. Unsurprisingly shaped as if in need of the run after 17 months off when pulled up at Chepstow and this run should be more revealing.
Continues in good heart without getting his head in front this season, again placed when third in a 7-runner handicap at Fontwell (3¼m, good) last month. On the downside, his overall strike rate (1-19) is modest and he's 4 lb 'wrong' at the weights here.

Forecasts
Puddlesinthepark (9/4), Lightonthewing (10/3), Firefly Lane (5/1), Elpologreg (8/1), Jikala (9/1), Williamdeconqueror (10/1), Janeslittlevoice (12/1), Felton Bellevue (12/1)
The one who appeals most judged on recent evidence is PUDDLESINTHEPARK, who kept on when third over 23.6f at Chepstow and this step back up in trip will be in his favour. The main caveat is that Lightonthewing beat him over C&D on similar terms last spring and will therefore be a big threat if he puts his best foot forward. Another who could have a part to play if bouncing back is Williamdeconqueror.
