Runner-up sole start in points in March 2022 and subsequently sold for £150,000. Left previous hurdles form behind in a first-time tongue strap when runner-up in 2m Uttoxeter maiden in January, but failed to build on that next time and improvement needed now handicapping.

Bumper winner sole start for Tom Weston and raised his game in this sphere when making a successful handicap debut at Musselburgh in February. Creditable third off this 8 lb higher mark at Warwick (2m, good to soft) next time and another bold show on the cards.

Off the mark at tenth attempt in this sphere when landing a Stratford handicap (18.7f, good) last spring. Not seen out since in this sphere but he has had a few spins on the Flat in recent months (latest off those efforts at Wolverhampton was encouraging) and he needs considering.

Steadily progressive in maiden/novice company, second in an 11-runner contest at Newcastle (2m, good to soft) on penultimate start. Flopped on handicap debut over the same C&D next time but he was probably amiss on that occasion and is therefore worth another chance.

Made the frame both starts in bumpers and placed on 2 of his 3 starts since switched to hurdles. Latest third of 7 upped to 20.4f at Southwell was creditable and this drop back in trip won't be an issue now handicapping, so there is cause for optimism.

Fair maiden on the Flat (often raced freely) and from the family of a useful hurdler. Yet to make a real impact in this sphere but there's a good chance that he'll be seen in a better light now venturing down the handicap route. Merits respect, for all that King Ulanda is seemingly the stable No 1.

Forecasts

King Ulanda (5/4), Little Dipper (5/2), Fandabidozi (11/2), Winchmore Hill (10/1), Forsa Bay (10/1), Saviour (28/1)

Verdict

The one with the most solid credentials is KING ULANDA, who has improved markedly switched to handicaps the last twice, scoring at Musselburgh before losing little caste in defeat when third off this mark at Warwick. Fandabidozi is just 2 lb above the mark off which he opened his hurdles account last spring and is feared most ahead of the selection's stablemate and handicap debutant Saviour.
