Fair winner at 14f on Flat for Ivan Furtado. Stepped forward from debut for this yard to win 7-runner C&D novice, for all he was gifted race when the odds-on favourite fell and nearly threw it away when losing concentration at the last. Wasn't seen to best effect at Stratford. Cheekpieces on.

Successful over 2m at Perth in July and has been gradually running back into form, creditable third over C&D when well backed having had a breathing op a week ago. Blinkers replace usual cheekpieces and he should be a factor again.

Fair dual 1m Flat winner for David O'Meara. Joined another good yard but looked a work-in-progress in his qualifying runs during the winter. Potential improver now handicapping.

Fair maiden handicapper on Flat and down in the weights, he surpassed previous hurdles form when second of 6 over C&D in October. Off since but a danger to all if he's fully tuned for this.

No great shakes over hurdles and not much better in 2 starts over fences when trained by Dan Skelton. Fell heavily on sole start for Hugh Burns in October and offered little returning to smaller obstacles for this yard.

Forecasts

Trailblazer (5/4), Pub Crawl (11/4), Lawmans Blis (10/3), Bodygroove (5/1), Miaswell (7/1), Chantilly Rose (40/1)

Verdict

PUB CRAWL really should be winning races in this sphere from his lowly mark given his Flat form and having finished runner-up over C&D when last seen in October, it's worth siding with him on return. Trailblazer and Lawmans Blis seem likely to give their running, which should ensure they are bang there in this grade.
