Progressive when upped to around 3¼m in handicap hurdles last summer, winning 3 on the bounce before going close in bid for the 4-timer at Newton Abbot. Safely held when third on recent return/chase debut at Southwell but she should be sharper now and this stamina test will be right up her street.

Notched third win over fences at Wincanton (2½m, soft) on Boxing Day and, though below par next 2 starts, she will be a big player if on-song and seeing this trip out (this will be her first run beyond 3m).

Best effort to date when beaten just over 2 lengths into fourth in an 8-runner handicap chase at Hereford (25.2f, good) in November. However, it would be something of an understatement to say that he's failed to build on that since (pulled up both subsequent starts). Cheekpieces applied.

Hit-and-miss 10-y-o who is becoming increasingly clumsy in the jumping department but, on the upside, he produced his best effort a while when runner-up in first-time blinkers (retained) at Chepstow (30.6f, good) last time. Couldn't rule out, despite the misgivings.

Forecasts

Anytrixwilldo (15/8), Spotty Dog (5/2), Saint Bibiana (3/1), Another Day Out (4/1)

Verdict

Though SAINT BIBIANA isn't the biggest and was beaten a fair way on chase debut at Southwell, it's reasonable to expect the 8-y-o to step up on that given that she was returning from a 7-month absence and this mark is a good one judged on her hurdles exploits last summer. Another Day Out is unproven over this far and hasn't put her best foot forward the last twice but she's a big threat nonetheless, while Spotty Dog, for all his foibles, will have a real chance granted a clean round of jumping.
