Phillapa Sue^t²⁷

Age: 10| Weight: 11-13| J: Nick Slatter⁽³⁾| T: D Killahena & G McPherson| OR: 111| D

18/5

Been in good heart for most of the season, including on penultimate run when creditable fourth of 8 in handicap hurdle (9/1) at this course (23.6f, heavy) 28 days ago, when well-suited by the test of stamina. Unsuited by sharper trip at Warwick last time and could bounce back over longer distance.

Smugglers Haven²⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-10| J: Miss L Bradstock⁽⁷⁾| T: S Bradstock| OR: 108

7/4

Point winner showed improved form when landing a double in handicaps earlier this season. Lost little in defeat when runner-up (after 4 months off) at Plumpton (20.5f) last time and merits plenty of respect tackling this longer trip for the first time.

Form: 3P-4112

Herewegohoney⁴⁵

Age: 9| Weight: 11-8| J: Jack Hogan⁽³⁾| T: F O'Brien| OR: 106| C| D

8/1

Doubled her tally over fences when winning a Market Rasen handicap in July 2023. However, she hasn't gone on from that effort since and was pulled up on her last two starts over fences.

Form: 0-0F4PP

Keppel Queen^p¹⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-7| J: Sean Houlihan| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 105

2/1

Still a maiden but placed on all 4 handicap hurdles, including twice over C&D. Looks an out and out stayer at this trip and should give another good account of herself at a course she likes.

Form: 522F23

All Inn Hand^t1²⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-2| J: Shane Fenelon⁽⁵⁾| T: P & M Bowen| OR: 100

10/1

Left bumper efforts behind when third in a maiden at Stratford (22f) on hurdles bow and bounced back to form over an inadequate trip/under an inexperienced rider when rallying to finish fourth at Warwick (19f). Disappointed upped in trip on handicap debut and now tried in first-time tongue-tie.

Forecasts

Smugglers Haven (7/4), Keppel Queen (2/1), Phillapa Sue (18/5), Herewegohoney (8/1), All Inn Hand (10/1)

A contest lacking in depth, and this looks a good opportunity for the consistent KEPPEL QUEEN to get her head in front, having been placed in her last four handicap hurdle starts. Phillapa Sue should be much better suited by this longer trip, while Smugglers Haven can give another good account on the back of her recent runner-up effort.
