Back on track when second over 19.3f at Catterick in January and, though he has finished out of the money both starts since, he certainly wasnt disgraced when fifth of 11 tried over 25.3f last time. Dropping back in trip here is a good move and he merits serious consideration off an attractive mark.

Successful twice from the front in 2½m handicap chases here in 2024, the latest off 3 lb lower mark than this in October. However, it's been all down hill since and hard to know what to expect of him on first run over hurdles for almost 2 years.

Has fallen a long way in the weights since his latest success but that was way back in December 2022 and both this season and last have been a struggle for this veteran. Has undergone a wind op.

Losing run continues to mount but he wasn't disgraced at Catterick (19.3f, good to soft) last time and is now 8 lb lower compared to when going close over this C&D last spring. Will be a danger to all if able to build on his latest effort.

Hinted at ability in 2 bumpers and there were some positives to take from his hurdles debut spin at Ayr in January. No impact both subsequent appearances and while he appears to have been brought along with handicaps in mind, he will certainly need to improve now pitched into one.

Yet to get his head in front but, as a lightly-raced 6-y-o, time is still very much on his side and appears to be headed in the right direction judged on latest second of 9 in a Uttoxeter handicap (2½m, heavy). Major player.

Opened account in maiden points at the fifth attempt last spring and hasn't shown much over a varierty of trips since switched to hurdles. Conversely, it's perfectly reasonable to expect some improvement from this 6-y-o now that he ventures down the handicap route.

Modest 7f Flat winner who offered little in novice/maiden hurdles but then took a significant step forward on his handicap debut in this sphere when third of 10 upped to 20.3f at Newcastle (good). If able to build on that he will surely have a big part to play in this contest.

Winless since 2022 and the addition of cheekpieces (retained here) failed to bring about improvement at Ayr last time. First-time tongue strap now enlisted and, unless the new headgear sparks significant progress, he will likely struggle once again.

Just the one win to her name from 20 appearances overall and while she produced her best effort for a while when fourth in a 10-runner Ayr handicap hurdle (20.4f, soft) last time, one or two of these make more appeal.

The vote goes to CAGE RATTLER, who took a sizeable step forward when third upped to 20.3f on his handicap debut in this sphere at Newcastle and he makes plenty of appeal off the same mark. Red Cadillac appears to be gradually progressing with experience and is feared on the back of his solid Uttoxeter second last time, while Final Edgar, Knomorediamonds and Les's Legacy all need considering having slipped to dangerous marks.
