Very much in the doldrums over fences for Nigel Twiston-Davies during second half of last year. Went with little encouragement on first completed start for the yard at Market Rasen (20.6f, good) 16 days ago and the handicapper given him a chance back chasing. Cheekpieces reapplied.

Point winner who got off the mark at fourth time of asking for current yard when narrowly taking 6-runner handicap chase at Catterick in January. Looked in control for much of the straight back chasing at Doncaster (24f, good) earlier in the month and remains well treated from just 1 lb higher.

Belatedly off the mark over C&D in November and acquitted himself well all 3 starts since, latest when second of 4 at this C&D (good to soft) 9 days ago. 5 lb out of the weights here but ought to give another good account.

Verdict

Preference is for SIBERIAN STAR, who looked in control for much of the straight before being collared late in the piece by a subsequent winner at Doncaster earlier in the month. Remaining well treated nudged up just 1 lb, Peter & Mickey Bowen's 10-y-o can double his tally for the season at the expense of Ballydisco, who should appreciate this step back up in trip. Yippee Ki Yay looks best of the remainder.
