Dual bumper winner who also won a pair of novice hurdles last season. Has shown similar form over fences, finishing runner-up in small-field events at Ayr and Carlisle (20f) in recent weeks, and is worth a try at this longer trip.

Winning Irish pointer who made it third time lucky over hurdles in a Ffos Las maiden (20f) in May. Returned from 7 months off with a much-improved effort to follow up on handicap/chase debut at Taunton in December and underfoot conditions possibly against him when pulled up at Wincanton latest.

Much improved switched to fences with cheekpieces applied, easily getting off the mark in a 3m handicap at Market Rasen (soft) in December. Looked booked for second when falling last at same course on Boxing Day and shaped as if still in good form when second at Ludlow last time. Much respected.

Forecasts

De Tellers Fortune (10/11), Kelce (13/8), Grand Albert (5/2), Lunar Discovery (9/2), Felicie Du Maquis (5/1)

Verdict

Quite a trappy-looking affair. KELCE has a progressive profile and did well under the circumstances when second at Ludlow on his most recent outing, having been badly hampered by loose horse, so he's an appealing candidate. Felicie du Maquis reverts to chasing following a recent win over hurdles and should be capable of better.
