Little impact in a couple of bumpers but appears to be gradually getting the hang of things over hurdles, chasing home the long odds-on Vanderpoel in a Ludlow novice (15.8f, soft) last time. Improvement possible now upped in trip for this handicap debut.

Fairly useful ex-Irish Flat maiden who has been brought along steadily over hurdles, finishing a creditable third in 16.5f Market Rasen handicap last June. Stiff track probably against him at Hexham later that month and could have a say round here if fully tuned-up following a break/wind op.

Fair bumper winner but yet to match that level of form in this sphere, failing to improve for the switch to handicap company on his last 2 starts.

Winless following 8 attempts in maiden points and has failed to pull up any trees a bumper and 3 runs over hurdles to date. That said she could be seen in a better light now venturing down the handicap route.

Fair maiden on the Flat and bettered hurdles debut display when third of 6 in a Leicester maiden in December. However, he has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent starts, including on handicap debut last time.

Ten-race maiden on the Flat and record stands at 0-9 in this sphere having finished sixth in a 14-runner handicap here (3m, good to soft) on latest start in January. Still, he has shown enough to suggest that a race of this nature may well be within his grasp off a mark such as this.

KINTARO probably found 3m too much of a test last time and is better judged on his C&D effort in November. He was in the process of running creditably when departing at the second-last here on that occasion and is now 7 lb lower in the weights. Handicap debutant Grenardier appears to be gradually finding his feet and rates the main danger ahead of another contesting a handicap for the first time, namely Whatmakes Honey B.
