Bettered hurdles form at first attempt over fences when third in C&D handicap in December. Has failed to build on that in 2 subsequent runs but his mark has dropped rapidly (now 9 lb lower than that encouraging chase debut effort here) and perhaps the first-time blinkers will give him a lift.

Lack of resolution is clearly an issue (again didn't find much for pressure tried in blinkers at Huntingdon last time) but he shouldn't be far away. Cheekpieces refitted.

On the back of an all-the-way hurdles success at Chepstow, LIGHTONTHEWING may well follow up returned to the larger obstacles. He was successful over C&D on his sole previous chase start at this course last March and remains on a good mark. Lock Out has to be respected on the back of a good effort at Hereford and he is second choice ahead of Celtic Fortune and I See The Sea.
