Really found the winning habit in the spring, completing the hat-trick with a narrow success in a Class 2 Uttoxeter handicap in May. However, he's returned from a break out of sorts, tailed off 5 out when pulled up at Exeter (24.2f) 44 days ago. Cheekpieces go back on.

Mixed record over hurdles this season and return to chasing failed to revive him when seventh of 9 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (20f, soft) 32 days ago. Eased 4 lb subsequently and he does come here with his yard amongst the winners.

Successful on second of 2 starts in points and perfect start over hurdles (fair form) when landing 10-runner novice at Carlisle in October 2023. Absent since finishing second under a penalty at Chepstow (23.6f) in December of that year and betting can guide now going chasing.

Landed a pair of small-field handicaps last winter for Nicky Richards and got back on track for his current yard when second at Hexham last summer. However. he needs to bounce back in a major way after being pulled up the last twice. Back up in trip.

Forecasts

Hunter Legend (4/5), Ballybegg (5/4), Big City Roller (2/1), Imperial Alex (4/1), Findthetime (17/2)

Verdict

A thin handicap and it could be worth chancing BALLYBEGG. He goes well in the mud and is 4 lb lower than his last winning chase mark. Big City Roller certainly isn't over-faced for his chase debut back from a long time off and has to be considered.
