Buy Some Time^h²¹

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: Ben Smith⁽⁷⁾| T: R M Smith| OR: 108| D

40/1

Won his first 2 handicap hurdles at Perth (both 3m) in July. Had his winning run ended over C&D last month but he could have needed that after 6 months off and can fare better now.

Form: 124117

Piaff Bubbles^p,h,t1¹¹

Age: 9| Weight: 11-11| J: Nathan Moscrop| T: R Menzies| OR: 105| BF| D

13/2

Has shown he retains his ability since returning from a long absence, including third over C&D last month. Likely to be competitive.

Form: 123/534

Golden Point³⁶

Age: 6| Weight: 11-11| J: Conner McCann⁽⁷⁾| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 105| C

9/2

Overcame a bad mistake 2 out when making it third time lucky over hurdles in 20.5f course novice last month. Likely capable of better again now handicapping over further.

Form: 432-431

Half Track⁵²

Age: 9| Weight: 11-10| J: B S Hughes| T: N W Alexander| OR: 104| C

9/2

Well handicapped on best form and took a firm step back in the right direction when second at Carlisle (19f) in December. Respectable fourth in a 0-130 at Haydock (3m) since and this is more his level. Respected under Hughes.

Form: P4/U324

Polish^b⁴³

Age: 10| Weight: 11-8| J: Leah Noreci⁽¹⁰⁾| T: James Moffatt| OR: 102| D

22/1

Without a win since 2021 and hasn't really threatened to put that right since joining this stable in the summer. Others preferred again.

Form: FP6664

Shadow Chaser⁵³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Sam Coltherd| T: W Coltherd| OR: 100| D

16/1

Point winner who was third in a 19f Cork bumper for John Gleeson and showed a bit in maiden/novice hurdles towards the end of 2024. Made a very disappointing start to his handicap career at Uttoxeter just before Christmas but it remains early days.

Form: 3-3576P

Wise Move^h⁸⁴

Age: 7| Weight: 11-5| J: Danny McMenamin| T: G Bewley| OR: 99| D

11/2

Prolific winner in points and ran to a fair level first time up over hurdles when second in Hexham novice in May. Best run since when 5 lengths fifth on 3m Carlisle handicap debut in November. Less exposed than most of these back from 12 weeks off.

Form: 21-2F95

Clovis Boy^p,t⁴²

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Sean Quinlan| T: Miss Lucinda V Russell| OR: 96| D

16/1

A dual hurdles winner last term but has yet to really get going this season.

Form: 4P1-U7P

Pure Sirloin^p1⁶²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-0| J: Henry Brooke| T: Miss S E Forster| OR: 94

28/1

Made a winning handicap debut for Gavin Cromwell at Navan in January 2023 but hasn't gone on from that, including in 4 outings for this yard. First-time cheekpieces will need to have a positive effect.

Form: 0P-046P

Bollin Matilda²⁹³

Age: 7| Weight: 10-12| J: Murray Dodd⁽⁷⁾| T: D W Whillans| OR: 92| D

12/1

Improver last spring, winning 3m handicap hurdles at Newcastle and Perth. Could easily still be on a workable market but peak fitness has to be taken on trust after 9 months off.

Form: 935611-

Topkapi Star^p²²

Age: 8| Weight: 10-11| J: Peter Kavanagh⁽³⁾| T: Ewan Whillans| OR: 91| C| D

9/1

Bounced back from an abysmal effort here at the turn of the year when scoring in first-time cheekpieces (retained) over 21.5f here 3 weeks ago. A 7 lb rise is fair if the headgear continues to have a positive effect.

Form: P-914P1

Maura Jeanne^t⁷⁴

Age: 8| Weight: 10-7| J: Alan Doyle⁽⁵⁾| T: I A Duncan| OR: 87

15/2

Finally off the mark at Kelso (3¼m) in October but has found life tougher in her 2 outings since. Others are more persuasive.

Forecasts

Golden Point (9/2), Half Track (9/2), Wise Move (11/2), Coffeys Forge (6/1), Piaff Bubbles (13/2), Maura Jeanne (15/2), Topkapi Star (9/1), Bollin Matilda (12/1), Shoeshine Boy (14/1), Clovis Boy (16/1), Shadow Chaser (16/1), Polish (22/1), Pure Sirloin (28/1), Buy Some Time (40/1)

Recent course novice winner GOLDEN POINT has the potential for better again now handicapping over a trip which looks sure to suit. Topkapi Star will be a danger if the cheekpieces work as well a second time, while Nick Alexander's Half Track was a little out of his pay grade in a 0-130 at Haydock last time and had been a good second at Carlisle prior to that.
