Won at Hereford final 2 starts last season and, in first-time cheekpieces, got back on the up when second at this C&D (heavy) on New Year's Eve, edged out dying strides but finishing clear of the rest. Can give another good account.

Fairly useful in bumpers and quickly reached a similar level over hurdles in 2022/23. Below expectations on handicap debut only start last season, but after another 13 months off he ran well when second at Wetherby (19.7f, soft) in November. Major player.

Bumper winner and, having placed on first 3 starts over hurdles last season, landed the odds in a Wincanton maiden (15.2f) in March. Returned with good runner-up efforts at Sandown and Warwick (21f, soft), so he can make his presence felt once more.

Won pair of 4-y-o hurdles in France but hasn't yet reached those heights for current connections. However, step in the right direction when third in handicap at Bangor (19.6f, heavy) in December and he's on a dangerous mark if building on latest effort.

Doubled his tally over hurdles at Catterick (25.3f) 12 months ago. Ran well sent chasing on second outing this season, but not in quite the same form back hurdling last 2 starts, making mistakes when sixth of 17 at Doncaster (24.4f, good to soft) 15 days ago.

Forecasts

El Granjero (15/8), Burrows Hall (11/4), Don't Tell Su (4/1), Hourvari (4/1), Rock Hurley (12/1)

Verdict

After 13 months off, HOURVARI proved that he retains his ability when runner-up at Wetherby in November, form boosted by the winner scoring again since, and he can build on that effort to get back to winning ways. Don't Tell Su isn't taken lightly having yet to finish out of the top three over hurdles, with El Granjero also respected.
