Jack Hobbs gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Samtara, stays 3¼m. Dam unraced sister to fairly useful hurdler/fair chaser (stayed 3¼m) Georgian King. Something to recommend him on pedigree but stable not renowned for winners in this sphere.

Schiaparelli gelding. Dam runner-up in point. Not much to go on pedigree wise but worthy of a market check.

Timeform
Closing in second when fell last sole start in Irish points and promising start under Rules when runner-up at Chepstow 65 days ago. More to come and worthy of interest.

£105,000 4-y-o, It's Gino gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to fair French hurdler/chaser (2¼m-2½m winner) Mysoko. Beat only other finisher sole start in Irish points (Feb 2024), so she's one to note starting out under Rules for a good stable.

Out of a winning hurdler but, having been down the field on debut at Chepstow, it's hard to make a meaningful case for him.

25/1, last of 6 in bumper at Ffos Las (2m, heavy) on debut 19 days ago, faltering. Hard to make any sort of case for.

Phoenix of Spain gelding. Half-brother to 7f 2-y-o winner Red Treble. Dam 2-y-o 6f winner. Stamina not guaranteed based on pedigree.

Related to a winning hurdler but there wasn't much encouragement at Exeter three months ago. Hard to fancy.

Flat bred and well beaten on debut in listed Cheltenham bumper (80/1) on New Year's Day. This is easier but needs to show more.

Forecasts

Hillwalk (11/10), Karma Police (13/8), Edward Sexton (7/4), Crackerjacque (13/2), Fox Cottage (8/1), Roi Du Risk (12/1), Patch Man (14/1), Aureus (20/1), Daffodil (25/1), Leonidass (50/1), Estrella Brillante (50/1), Saddlers Dream (125/1)

Verdict

EDWARD SEXTON's second at Sandown is the piece of form that sets the standard and there's no reason why he can't build on it, so he's preferred to Hillwalk, who also arrives on the back of a promising Rules debut. Point-winner Karma Police is very much one to note starting out under Rules for a shrewd outfit.
