1/3
Point/bumper winner who has looked a smart prospect so far over hurdles, supplementing his Chepstow maiden success in facile fashion in 6-runner introductory event over C&D 45 days ago. Open to plenty more improvement and looks the one to beat.

Dual bumper winner who looked a useful prospect when winning 12-runner maiden at Kelso (16.2f, soft) 41 days ago, plenty in hand. More to come and interesting contender up in grade.

150/1
Irish point winner at sixth attempt who has shown fair form over hurdles, not seen to best effect when fifth in 10-runner maiden hurdle at Ayr (16f, soft) 16 days ago, left poorly placed (reported to have suffered breathing problem). Has lots to find in this company, though.

Fairly useful bumper winner but just modest form in 2 runs over hurdles and will surely be outclassed here.

Runner-up both starts in bumpers and improved on hurdling debut form when making all in 8-runner novice hurdle at Exeter (16.7f, heavy) 17 days ago. This is a different kettle of fish, however.

28/1
£45,000 purchase after finishing runner-up all 3 completed starts in Irish points. Bright start under Rules when second at Ayr in October and didn't need to improve to go one better in a similar event back there (2m) 16 days ago. This is a big step up but remains open to improvement.

17/2
Debut winner who did very well under the circumstances when second of 19 on handicap debut at Leopardstown (16f, good, 40/1) 23 days ago, badly hampered first and forced to make headway on outer. Respected up in grade.

Forecasts

Royal Infantry (1/3), Dedicated Hero (6/1), Cloonainra (17/2), Peacenik (16/1), Walking On A Dream (28/1), Got A Dream (50/1), Famous Liss (150/1)

Verdict

ROYAL INFANTRY soon settled things with an impressive burst early in the straight over C&D on his most recent outing and, with scope for plenty more improvement, he'll surely take a fair bit of beating stepping up in grade. Dedicated Hero impressed at Kelso and is narrowly preferred to likeable mare Cloonainra for the forecast spot.
