Horse A-Z
5-y-o gelding who displayed useful form in France, winning minor event at Auteuil (17.9f) in October. Seemed to find extended 21f trip stretching him when third on debut on these shores in 5-runner Ascot novice (21.6f) a month later and better anticipated back down in trip here.

Useful 2-time winner in bumpers who confirmed hurdles debut promise when opening his account in 10-runner 2m maiden at Chepstow in November. Beaten only by a promising youngster under a penalty at Exeter subsequently and definite claims in a first-time tongue strap.

€30,000 5-y-o, Diamond Boy gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler Kavanaghs Cross. Dam unraced sister to useful 23f hurdle winner Senor Lombardy. This Irish points winner is respected on his debut.

Passing Glance gelding who finished runner-up only outing in points (Feb 2023) and showed a bit when fifth of 10 in novice hurdle at Taunton (19f, good to soft) on Rules debut 16 days ago, fading from 2 out. Entitled to build on that.

Showed plenty of ability in trio of bumpers last season and similar story in finishing runner-up both starts in maiden/novice hurdles this winter, latterly in 14-runner contest at Hereford (16.2f) 25 days ago, clear of remainder.

Only modest form shown over hurdles thus far and fell 4th in C&D novice on latest outing 4 weeks ago. Others appeal more.

Placed in Irish points but well held in a pair of C&D maiden hurdles this winter. Probably the type to do better in handicaps moving forward.

Promising third of 11 in a Downpatrick bumper for Paul Nolan in September but looked one for the longer term when merely closing up late on Plumpton hurdle debut 30 days ago.

Shaped with some promise in a brace of bumpers but made a discouraging hurdling debut at Lingfield last month, dropping away after 3 out.

£66,000 4-y-o, Blue Bresil gelding. Dam, fairly useful 2m-21f hurdle winner (stayed 3m), closely related to useful hurdler/chase winner (stayed 23f) Princely Player and useful chaser (stayed 3¼m) Kings Temptation. Made frame both starts in points, runner-up latest (Apr 2024). Market can guide.

Has hinted at promise both starts over hurdles, seventh in 2m Southwell novice 30 days ago. More one for handicaps after this.

Modest bumper performer in Ireland who made the frame once from 4 starts in maidens on the Flat. Pulled up both outings over hurdles for this yard during the summer, however. Can only be watched back from 7 months off.

Forecasts

Jurancon (5/4), Big Ginge (9/4), Kloth Of Utopia (9/4), Old Cowboy (18/1), Bank On Frank (33/1), Atomic Level (33/1), Pay The Tab (50/1), Jorebel (80/1), Passing Pleasure (80/1), Shan't Wait (150/1), Low Expectations (150/1), My Cullen (200/1), Fort St Angelo (200/1), Dorset Lady (300/1)

Verdict

Plenty of these look longer-term/handicap projects but JURANCON cemented the positive start he's made in this sphere when chasing home another promising sort at Exeter 6 weeks ago, and he rates a big player here with a first-time tongue strap fitted. Kloth of Utopia, dropped in trip following his Ascot third is the obvious danger, ahead of Big Ginge.
