16/1

€42,000 3-y-o, Kamsin gelding. Dam unraced half-sister to smart hurdler (stayed 2¾m) Royal Boy. Wears tongue strap. Worth monitoring in the betting.

Giantsgrave²⁷²

6/5

€50,000 3-y-o, £92,000 4-y-o, Walk In The Park gelding. Half-brother to fair 2m hurdle winner Barrabooka. Dam unraced sister to top-class hurdler/very smart chaser (winner up to 21f) Oscar Whisky. Runner-up sole start in Irish points (Apr 2024). Obvious player.

Form: 2-

Next Twist⁶²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy

11/2

Closely related to useful hurdler Steel Ally, and half-brother to French 19f chase winner Elite Rock. Something to work on when fourth at Sandown a couple of months ago and could do better for that initial experience.

Form: 4

Pougie³⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Bryan Carver| T: C Honour

100/1

Bred to have a future but sent off long odds and hasn't shown much to date.

Form: 06

Twist Of Fatecatch⁴⁰

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Dylan Johnston⁽³⁾| T: N P Mulholland

11/1

Half-brother to French hurdler/chaser Fortune du Large and clear signs of ability when fourth at Plumpton first time out. Could step forward from that.

Form: 4

Woodythewoodpecker²⁴²

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Isabel Williams⁽³⁾| T: Evan Williams

22/1

17/2, shaped like a stayer when fourth of 10 in bumper at Southwell (2m, good to soft) in May. Not seen since and has something to find.

Form: 4

Forecasts

Giantsgrave (6/5), Douglas Hyde (2/1), Next Twist (11/2), Loch Na Keal (13/2), Twist Of Fatecatch (11/1), Falcao (16/1), Woodythewoodpecker (22/1), Pougie (100/1)

LOCH NA KEAL is from a good family and represents a stable with an excellent record both at this track and in bumpers, so he gets the narrow vote over point recruit Giantsgrave. Douglas Hyde is the clear pick of those with experience in this discipline.
