Lounge Lizard^v²⁸⁷

Age: 7| Weight: 12-0| J: J J Burke| T: H D Daly| OR: 136

4/1

Unreliable sort but he signed off last term with success in 2m4f handicap chase at Huntingdon in March. Off 9 months but not ruled out if on his A-game.

Grandads Cottage^t²⁴⁷

Age: 9| Weight: 11-11| J: S Bowen| T: O Murphy| OR: 133

10/3

Added to his chase tally in a first-time tongue strap at Leicester in January and ended the term with a good eighth of 24 in the Topham at Aintree. Returns with yard in really good nick so he's a likely player.

Form: 1/03148-

Prairie Wolf^p²²

Age: 7| Weight: 11-10| J: Henry Brooke| T: J Parkinson & S Smith| OR: 132| D

11/2

Winner of 3 of his half-a-dozen starts switched to fences last term. Yet to fire this season, though, so others appeal more.

Form: 113-64P

Lieutenant Command^p²²

Age: 10| Weight: 11-10| J: Harry Reed| T: T Reed| OR: 132| D

125/1

Doubled his tally over fences at Leopardstown (21f) in March 2023 but has struggled since, first run since leaving Noel Meade when pulled up at Haydock 22 days ago. Has plenty to prove.

Form: 5P16/0-P

Flic Ou Voyou^p²⁶

Age: 10| Weight: 11-3| J: Danny McMenamin| T: H Hogarth| OR: 125| C

5/1

Consistent sort who bids for a hat-trick after 2m4f successes at Newcastle and here this winter. Up 6 lb but he should give another good account from the front.

Form: 3PD211

William Of York^p,t²⁵²

Age: 8| Weight: 11-3| J: Ross Chapman| T: R Menzies| OR: 125| CD

9/2

Completed a hat-trick over hurdles for Dan Skelton and repeated the feat for his current yard over fences in 2m4f handicap here in April. Yard is going well so this likeable sort must enter calculations on his seasonal return.

Form: 253111-

Marown^v1²⁶

Age: 10| Weight: 11-2| J: Sean Quinlan| T: N G Richards| OR: 124| D

4/1

Winless since 2021 but he resumed with a good second of 4 in 2m4f handicap chase here 26 days ago. Visor replaces usual cheekpieces. Place prospects once more.

Form: 23323-2

Forecasts

Grandads Cottage (10/3), Lounge Lizard (4/1), Marown (4/1), William Of York (9/2), Flic Ou Voyou (5/1), Prairie Wolf (11/2), Lieutenant Command (125/1)

This is wide open but Olly Murphy has his string in excellent nick so his GRANDADS COTTAGE is taken to make a winning return and edge out the hat-trick seeking Flic Ou Voyou. William of York is another who can have a say despite having an absence to overcome, with Marown completing the shortlist.
