Stay Safe Players At BetMGM Handicap Chase

Plumpton winner first time up over fences 2 years ago but not much impact for current yard. Others make more appeal.

Stopped the slide from a slipping mark after 7 months off (had breathing operation in interim) when second at Worcester (23f), no match for promising winner. Shaped as if still in form when fourth at Ffos Las last month, let down by jumping. Respected.

Won at Hereford at the start of the year and a couple of good seconds after. Just respectable efforts both starts this season but he's back on a winning mark.

Veteran scored at Stratford (22.5f) in March and set a lot to do when fourth both starts this season. Not taken lightly.

Justified support when making a winning return at Ffos Las (heavy) last year. Placed on next 3 starts but form went the wrong way subsequently, pulled up in 3 of his last 4 races. He's now back below his last winning mark, though, so he's one to note on comeback.

Modest winning hurdler. Took a heavy fall at Fakenham over a year ago and first run since when eighth of 13 in handicap chase at Uttoxeter (20f, good to soft) on debut over fences 38 days ago. Entitled to come on for that at least.

Won back-to-back handicaps at Chepstow early this year but ran poorly on final 2 starts of the campaign. However, after 6 months off he got back on track when third at Warwick (25.4f, good) 34 days ago. Enters calculations with recent run behind him.

Shaped like a stayer in maiden/novice hurdles but produced laboured displays switched to handicap hurdles. Offered something to work on sent chasing at Chepstow in March 2023 and though off since, his yard is in excellent form.

Lightly-raced maiden hurdler. Much better effort over fences after 20 months off when fifth of 13 in handicap chase at Ffos Las (23.8f, heavy) 19 days ago. Needs to take another step forward in first-time headgear.

Modest chaser who could hardly have shown any less on return last month.

Finally off the mark in novices' handicap at Lingfield (23.5f, soft) over a year ago but mixed form remaining 3 starts last season. Off 10 months and easy to oppose from out of the handicap.
