Winning Irish pointer/hurdler. No show in 3 starts over fences last season but fared much better (had a breathing operation and tongue tied) when second at Ffos Las on return. Entitled to come on for that so leading claims with yard remaining in fine form.

Off the mark over hurdles in 13-runner handicap at Newbury at the end of the 2021/22 season and made an encouraging belated return/chase debut when second there in January. However, ran an alarmingly wayward race when pulled up at Kempton on return so bit to prove now.

Point/hurdles winner but ended last season badly out of form. At least starts the new campaign on a nice mark with yard going well.

Better for return when capitalising on a much-reduced mark over C&D, scraping home in the end having looked in control. Seemed stretched by the longer trip at Hereford since. In the mix.

No great shakes over hurdles/on the Flat in Ireland but has upped his game for new yard, runner-up all 3 starts, going close switched to fences last twice. Should go well again stepping up in trip.

Forecasts

Superbolt (11/10), Phantom Getaway (10/3), Blairgowrie (13/2), Lagonda (7/1), Current Mood (8/1)

Verdict

PHANTOM GETAWAY got his career back on track fitted with a tongue strap (also had a breathing operation) when runner-up at Ffos Las on return and should make a bold bid to go one place better. Superbolt has taken well to fences for this yard and rates the main threat.
