Guard Your Dreams22

9/1
Smart hurdler at his best who, in line with yard's fine form made a successful return/chase debut in novices' handicap at Warwick (20f) in October. Similar form from 4 lb higher when fourth of 11 in handicap here (19.7f) 3 weeks ago. Will likely need to pull out a little more.

5/1
Bookended his novice season over hurdles with victories at Ayr, latterly a 2m handicap in April. Perfect start in this sphere when landing 5-runner handicap chase at Wetherby (15.1f) 32 days ago, scoring with much more authority than winning margin implies. Big player with progress forthcoming.

9/5
Irish point winner who won second of 2 starts in bumper for Michael Scudamore in 2022. Missed the following year but looked a useful prospect when landing each of his 2 starts in maiden/novice hurdles here (20.2f) during second half of last term. Bright prospect on handicap chase debut.

18/1
Fairly useful hurdler who made perfect start over fences after 5 months off when taking 9-runner Galway maiden (18.2f) in October. Still only fourth when unseating last in novice back at that track/trip 22 days ago. Back up in distance now handicapping in this sphere.

11/2
Bumper/dual hurdles winner who, after 7 months off, ran out an emphatic winner on yard chase/debut at Stratford (20.9f) 4 weeks ago, jumping well and powering clear before the last. Up 9 lb in stronger race but there's surely more to come.

14/1
Improved for the switch to fences during the summer, landing back-to-back handicap chases at Ffos Las and Worcester. Respectable efforts over hurdles next 2 starts and latest run in this sphere best ignored, keeping on when hampered 2 out. Still, lacks potential of one or two.

Leader In The Park214
Age: 6|  Weight: 10-9| J: Ben Jones| T: B Pauling| OR:  121
10/3
Cost £250,000 from points and showed himself a good prospect when ready winner of a Doncaster maiden hurdle (19.4f) in February. Posted a good fourth behind Peaky Boy here (20.2f) when last seen in April and he's the type to do better still over fences. Yard in good form.

Forecasts

Peaky Boy (9/5), Leader In The Park (10/3), Primoz (5/1), Westerninthepark (11/2), Guard Your Dreams (9/1), Bob Bob Ricard (14/1), The Other Mozzie (18/1), Walking On Air (33/1)

Verdict

Market confidence behind either of the chase debutants would look significant but PRIMOZ marked himself out as one to keep firmly on side when making a winning chase debut at Wetherby last month. Value for much more than the bare margins would imply, he boasts plenty of untapped potential and could be the way to go up in trip. Peaky Boy was 2-2 over hurdles and needs factoring in, as do Olly Murphy's impressive Stratford scorer Westerninthepark and low-mileage Leader In The Park.
