Racing TV Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 13:45 | Winning time: 5m 6.10s

As Legends Have It²⁰⁹

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: Kielan Woods| T: B Pauling

11/4

From the pointing field and made it second time lucky in bumpers at Ffos Las in April despite briefly shaping as though the relative emphasis on speed was going to catch him out. Seems sure to have a future over jumps upped in trip now.

Form: 33/21-

Califet En Vol²⁰⁵

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: N de Boinville| T: N J Henderson

8/11

Cost plenty after finishing runner-up on his only outing in Irish points and shaped encouragingly despite being easy to back in Ayr bumper in April, not knocked about. Should do well over jumps and leading claims for yard that targets this race.

Form: 23-

Montana Golden¹²⁷

Age: 5| Weight: 11-0| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill| BF

50/1

Fair form in bumpers in the summer, second on debut at Worcester then shaping better than bare result at Market Rasen. Another good prospect for hurdling upped in trip.

Form: 25

Thunder N Lightnin^t³¹⁷

Age: 6| Weight: 11-0| J: Paul O'Brien| T: Harry Derham

13/2

Placed on both of his starts in points and stepped up on his hurdling debut when second in 19f Taunton novice when last seen at Christmas. Might be vulnerable to a newcomer or two on first run for 10 months.

Form: 32/62-

My Louise³¹

Age: 6| Weight: 10-7| J: M Goldstein| T: Mrs L Richards

15/2

Successful on the first 2 of 3 starts in bumpers, was held back by inexperience sent hurdling after 7 months off at Chepstow but did enough in the end to suggest she'll improve.

Form: 118-5

Banny Hill Lass¹³

Age: 4| Weight: 10-6| J: J M Quinlan| T: N B King

400/1

No form in bumpers/Chepstow maiden hurdle.

Form: 959-P

Forecasts

Califet En Vol (8/11), As Legends Have It (11/4), Thunder N Lightnin (13/2), My Louise (15/2), Montana Golden (50/1), Banny Hill Lass (400/1)

The three hurdling newcomers could have this between them, with CALIFET EN VOL taken to give his yard another win in this novice. He shaped well in an Ayr bumper in April and looks sure to do better now jumping upped in trip. As Legends Have It is preferred over Montana Golden for the forecast.
