Hit the target twice for Gordon Elliott in 2023 and following a very low-key start for present stable, he stopped the slide when second over fences at Stratford (21f, heavy) 3 weeks ago, finishing tired. Now his task is to build on that effort.
Placed on second of 2 starts in points and better efforts over hurdles since the tongue tie was applied, second of 11 in handicap at Perth (23.9f) back in April. Down markedly in trip on return but switch to chasing could well see him in an even better light. Had wind op.
Went the right way in handicaps over hurdles last term, gaining a second victory at Fontwell (19.2f) in March. Looked all about stamina when fourth from career-high mark over 20f here later that month so drop back to 2m may not suit ideally now attentions switch to chasing.
Fair form when successful on second of 3 starts in maiden hurdles. Didn't kick on thereafter in trio of handicaps during the spring but in-the-frame on each of his 3 starts in points earlier in his career so interesting if the market spoke in his favour now sent chasing.
Six-time winner over fences but he's been operating below his best in recent months and no upturn for switch back to hurdles when fourth of 15 in handicap at Chepstow (19.4f) 12 days ago. Handicapper has given him a big chance, however.
Registered his third success over fences in a C&D handicap back in spring of last year. Exploits decidedly mixed during first half of this year but he was campaigned over further latterly and the return to the minimum trip can help. Better anticipated from much-reduced mark.
Well served by change of tactics when making second start in handicaps a winning one over hurdles at Fontwell (19.2f) in February. Absent since finishing well held on chase debut for Gary & Josh Moore in May and he changed hands for only £1000 later that month.
Failed to set the world alight on the Flat in Slovakia but he was a runaway winner on hurdles debut for new connections at Stratford (19f, heavy) in March. Well beaten next 2 starts but stable boast a good record with their runners in this sphere and one to note on handicap bow.
Little impact over hurdles for this yard and fared no better sent chasing when pulled up at Hereford (20.9f) 4 weeks ago, folding from 4 out.

Forecasts
Moorefields (2/1), Heard That (7/2), Lermoos Legend (9/2), Roger (7/1), Mumbles (8/1), As Tears Go By (9/1), Razzo Italiano (12/1), Doors Breaker (14/1), You Say Nothing (14/1), Esperti (40/1), Time To Dazzle (66/1)
The betting can prove useful in assessing the quintet of chasing debutants but C&D winner YOU SAY NOTHING returns from a break lurking on a very handy mark and, with the drop back in trip another likely plus, he could be worth siding with to bounce back. Of the chasing newcomers, Heard That, Roger and Mumbles make most appeal and head up the dangers.
