Virgin Bet Every Saturday Money Back Maiden Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 15:00 | Winning time: 5m 2.27s

Emiyn¹⁵

Age: 7| Weight: 11-4| J: R T Dunne| T: D Carroll

13/2

Useful stayer at his best on the Flat. His last 2 runs in that sphere have been disappointing but he definitely has the ability to play a part if taking to this new discipline.

Form:

Sunray Shadow²⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Harry Skelton| T: D Skelton| BF

11/10

Warwick bumper winner in May who shaped promisingly when third of 11 in a 2m novice hurdle there 5 months later. Looks sure to improve, particularly now stepping up in trip.

Form: 13

Takt De Touques^t¹²⁶

Age: 5| Weight: 11-4| J: Mr N McParlan⁽³⁾| T: Gerald Quinn

7/4

Winning pointer who looked a good prospect when completing a bumper-hat-trick between April and June. Taken to keep his winning run going now switching to hurdles.

Form: 4211-11

Chief Sunday³²

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Finn Lambert⁽³⁾| T: N & W Twiston-Davies

25/1

Down the field in 2 Warwick bumpers in the spring. Offered more when fourth of 6 in 2m Perth novice hurdle on last month's reappearance but he'll need to improve on that form to trouble a couple of these rivals.

Form: 78-4

Lennie Godber²¹⁸

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: G Sheehan| T: S Cameron

100/1

No show in 2 bumpers for Nigel Twiston-Davies in March and big outsider now hurdling for new stable after 7 months off.

Form: 60-

Rockchoeur²⁶

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 105

14/1

Placed in bumpers (for Nigel Twiston-Davies) and maiden/novice hurdles but his form is little better than modest.

Form: 253-33

Small Town Hero¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 11-2| J: Nick Scholfield| T: Christian Williams

50/1

Point winner who failed to figure in a Grade 2 bumper here in the spring. Hinted at ability when a well-held fifth on his Ffos Las hurdle debut a fortnight ago but he's probably more one for the longer term.

Form: 10-5

Forecasts

Sunray Shadow (11/10), Takt De Touques (7/4), Emiyn (13/2), Rockchoeur (14/1), Chief Sunday (25/1), Small Town Hero (50/1), Lennie Godber (100/1)

TAKT DE TOUQUES created a good impression when winning 3 bumpers earlier in the year and is narrowly preferred to Dan Skelton's Sunray Shadow. Emiyn could also have a part to play if translating anything like his Flat ability to hurdles.
