Classy Boy^p1³²

Age: 3| Weight: 9-8| J: Sam Feilden⁽⁷⁾| T: K R Burke| OR: 77| D

11/1

Fairly useful gelding. 6/1, last of 6 in handicap at Chester (10.3f, heavy) 32 days ago. This drop back in trip shouldn't be too much of an issue (won over a mile at Carlisle in July) and will be a serious each-way player down in grade here if responding well to the first-time cheekpieces.

12/1

Fair filly. 3 wins from 14 runs this year, the latest at Beverley in July. Fifth of 10 in handicap (20/1) at Pontefract (6f, heavy) 8 days ago, inadequate test. No easy task on these terms.

Charlie Mason^t,v⁶

9/1

Fair gelding. Below form fifth of 12 in handicap (28/1) at Kempton (6f) 6 days ago. Others make more appeal on these terms.

Form: 737235

Alzahir^t⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-2| J: George Wood| T: J Candlish| OR: 89| D

8/13

Fairly useful gelding. 50/1, first run since leaving David O'Meara when bit below form seventh of 16 in handicap at York (7.9f, soft) 4 days ago. Clear pick at the weights here and will take plenty of stopping if anywhere near his best.

Form: 005447

Rajwaan⁷¹⁴

Age: 4| Weight: 9-2| J: Jordan Williams⁽⁵⁾| T: B J Llewellyn| OR: 67

66/1

Lightly-raced winner. 11/8, career best when winning 8-runner nursery for Andrew Balding at Southwell (5f) in November 2022. Absent since and probably best watched starting out for new yard here.

Form: 97731/

Forecasts

Alzahir (8/13), Gaiety Musical (13/2), Charlie Mason (9/1), Classy Boy (11/1), Blufferonthebus (12/1), Fierce (14/1), Liberty Mountain (18/1), Loose Tongue (20/1), Twisted Tiara (50/1), Rajwaan (66/1)

ALZAHIR has spent most of this season contesting strong handicaps, as was the case when he finished mid-field at York on debut for new connections just four days ago. The 4-y-o is likely to prove very hard to beat eased in grade here (meets all of this rivals on far better terms than he would if this were a handicap). Gaiety Musical gets the nod ahead of Classy Boy for forecast purposes.
