Demonstrated his versatility trip-wise earlier this year, landing a 23.3f Uttoxeter handicap in May followed by a 2m Worcester novice a month later. Has found things tougher since, though, and he's probably summed up by his current mark.

Landed 5-runner hunter at Exeter in March prior to falling early on in the Foxhunters' Chase at Aintree the following month. However, he hasn't threatened in half-a-dozen starts over hurdles so far, including on recent return/debut for new yard at Fontwell.

Dual bumper winner who landed the odds when making it third time lucky over hurdles in a 2m Southwell mares' maiden in May. Placed both subsequent starts and while more is needed now moving into handicap company, she is in good hands and can hardly be labelled as exposed.

Didn't need to improve much to open his account at the second time of asking here (16.3f, good) in July. Found out under a penalty in a better race back at this course later that month but makes his handicap debut off what looks a fair mark and he has very low mileage.

Made winning start for Dan Skelton on the back of a wind op in a Market Rasen handicap in June. Latest second in a C&D selling handicap (good) was a pretty solid effort and she'll certainly have a chance if she puts her best foot forward on debut for another new yard.

Successful sole start in Irish points last November and has acquitted himself well both starts under Rules, latterly finding just one too good in a Cartmel novice (17.2f, soft). Improvement needed now pitched into a handicap on the back of a break but he's in good hands and unexposed.

Modest form in bumpers and it's been a similar story over hurdles so far.

Off the mark when narrowly taking a 12-runner Worcester handicap (2m, good) in July and followed that with a creditable third off this mark at Uttoxeter. Misfired back up to 2½m last time but return to this trip should help and she won't be far away if on-song.

Pulled up sole start in Irish points and it's all been rather low-key over hurdles so far. Big step forward needed now that he makes the switch to handicap company.

Has bettered his no-shows in novice events switched to handicaps the last twice but will need to improve in order to open his account here.

Best effort so far when fifth of 11 on his handicap debut over C&D in May but absent since and he's probably worth taking on. Tongue strap enlisted.

Forecasts

Hard As Nails (10/3), Eaton Anne (7/2), El Vigaro (9/2), Crac De Megaudais (6/1), Shengai Enki (13/2), Paddys Island (9/1), Quick Of The Night (20/1), River Robe (22/1), Drop Flight (28/1), The Cypriot (28/1), We Ain't Walking (50/1)

Verdict

Handicap-debutants PADDYS ISLAND, Eaton Anne and Hard As Nails can come to the fore with preference for the first-named, who showed more than enough in three starts here during the summer to suggest that he will be competitive off this mark. Quick of The Night will also have a chance if she puts her best foot forward.
