Off time: 15:31 | Winning time: 4m 13.16s

Torrent¹⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 11-8| J: David Noonan| T: N J Hawke| OR: 105| D

9/2

Fair Flat performer who has made a good start to his hurdling career and defied a penalty for his Uttoxeter victory at the second attempt at Newton Abbot 3 weeks ago. More needed again but it's not out of the question.

Form: 121

Benvoy⁷¹

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: G Sheehan| T: Miss J S Davis

33/1

Fair maiden on Flat (sold from Henry de Bromhead £6,500 in July). Half-brother to useful 2m hurdle winner Arabian Revolution (scored first time up in this sphere). Wouldn't completely dismiss.

Form:

Liam Swagger^t1³¹

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: Sam Twiston-Davies| T: James Owen

4/6

Fairly useful maiden on Flat (stays 1¾m), best effort last time. Half-brother to fairly useful hurdler Father of Jazz (2m winner) for connections and fair staying hurdler Dequall. Tongue tied and makes plenty of appeal on jumps debut for in-form yard.

Form:

Model Approach^b⁹²

Age: 3| Weight: 11-0| J: B S Hughes| T: A Keatley

6/1

Fairly useful maiden on Flat (stays 1½m), again ran well in handicap last time (sold from Jim Bolger 27,000 gns in July). One to consider on hurdles debut.

Form:

Malinka³³

Age: 3| Weight: 10-12| J: Sean Quinlan| T: J Candlish| D

11/2

Fair Flat performer who made a winning debut over hurdles in smooth style after 11 weeks off for new yard at Cartmel, responding well and seeing off Torrent. Her form on the level quickly tailed off but she's entitled to progress after such a promising start.

Form: 1

Forecasts

Liam Swagger (4/6), Torrent (9/2), Malinka (11/2), Model Approach (6/1), Aaron (6/1), Benvoy (33/1)

A useful-looking renewal of what has been a good juvenile over the years and LIAM SWAGGER is taken to make a successful start in this sphere. A fairly useful and consistent maiden on the level, he's related to a couple of winning hurdlers and makes plenty of appeal. There might not be much between Cartmel 1-2 Malinka and Torrent, the latter having won again since at Newton Abbot. Model Approach also makes some appeal starting out in this code.
