Landed brace of hunters for Michael Scudamore in 2023 and built on a promising return to action when bagging a 9-runner handicap chase at Hereford (20.9f, good) in May. However, no show next 2 starts and hard to know what to expect of him now returned to this sphere (well held latest hurdles start).
Landed back-to-back handicap hurdles here and at Warwick last summer, and regained the winning thread with cheekpieces applied (retained) at Cartmel (2¾m, good to firm). 3 lb rise fair enough and this 7-y-o should give another good account.
Winner of back-to-back handicap chases at Southwell (both over 24.3f) during the spring. Fell 5 out when bidding for the hat-trick over the same C&D on latest start in June and could have a part to play if he puts his best foot forward now returned to this sphere. Yard also saddles Planet Legend.
Off the mark for this yard at Musselburgh last December and hasn't disgraced himself in handicaps at Uttoxeter and Perth the last twice. Place possibilities.
Dual winner in summer 2022 but she didn't show much at Bangor when returning from a year off 10 days ago.
Dual hurdles winner during 2022/23 campaign and twice placed in handicaps during the spring, latterly finishing third of 7 at Huntingdon (25f, good to soft). This slight drop back in trip and forecast quicker ground are positive factors and he's one to consider.
Endured woeful 2023/24 campaign and though back on track with a quickfire double over C&D and at Uttoxeter in June, he was safely held when bidding for the hat-trick at Newton Abbot later that month. Poor on the Flat recently, too, and he's opposable.
Fairly useful handicapper on Flat for Andrew Balding and landed a brace of 18.7f novice events at Stratford in June. However, has come up short switched to handicaps the last twice (reportedly suffered with a breathing problem when pulled up in the Cartmel race won by Sea The Clouds).
Untrustworthy individual who has followed his Uttoxeter victory in June with a couple of lesser efforts. Others make more appeal for win purposes.
Unreliable type overall but just 2 lb above the mark off which he hit the target at Market Rasen last November. Creditable placed efforts last 3 starts in this sphere and it will be no surprise at all to see him involved in the finish. Yard also represented by School Days Over.
Went the wrong way over fences last season but his mark tumbled as a result and he capitalised returned to timber (also fitted with cheekpieces) when winning 5-runner handicap at Fontwell in May. Creditable fifth of 13 at Uttoxeter (23.3f, good to soft) last time and he's an each-way player.
Immediate improvement upon joining James Owen, scoring for fifth time overall when taking a Catterick handicap chase in March and has backed that up with solid placed efforts on 5 of his next 6 starts (all over fences). Will need a career-best if he's to defy this mark back hurdling, though.
Losing run stretches back nearly 3 years and while he was placed twice for Ralph Smith this summer, his recent C&D debut for this yard wasn't particularly encouraging.
Opened chase account off a 4 lb higher mark than this at Hereford (21f, good) last November. Placed all 3 starts since returned to hurdles, including over C&D last time, and he's a strong candidate.

Forecasts
School Days Over (4/1), Earth King (5/1), My Gift To You (11/2), Sea The Clouds (17/2), Planet Legend (9/1), Charles St (9/1), Juan Bermudez (10/1), Lihyan (11/1), Breaking Waves (16/1), Fix At All (20/1), Art Approval (22/1), Mr Tambourine Man (22/1), Taste The Fear (25/1), Isthebaropen (80/1)
SCHOOL DAYS OVER shaped as though he's ready to strike when third over this C&D last time and, in the hope that he gets a strong pace to aim at, the 7-y-o could be the answer. Planet Legend will be a live danger if fully tuned-up following a break of almost four months, while Lihyan is third choice ahead of the selection's stablemate Charles St and Earth King.
