Proven mudlark seemed to relish the soft ground sent chasing when winning 4-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (20f) in July. May of found race coming too soon when last of 5 over C&D later that month but he's likely worth another chance with conditions in his favour.

Fair winner at 17f over hurdles. 10/1, last of 8 in handicap chase at this course (17.3f, soft) on debut over fences 89 days ago. Needs to leave that well behind.

4/1
Flat/hurdles winner who returned to form when third here in May. Exploits mixed since but best not judged too harshly on his chase debut effort at Worcester (16.5f) on Wednesday having been badly hampered early. Type to do better in this sphere.

Didn't take to chasing following a promising return over hurdles last summer and well below best over hurdles, including here on Saturday. Faces a stiff task from long way out of the weights returned to chasing.

Forecasts

Cuzco Du Mathan (10/11), Forcing Bull (10/3), Supposedtobe (4/1), Wee Charlie (6/1), Grand Soufle (17/2), Coeur Aimant (22/1), Miss Fedora (25/1)

Verdict

CUZCO DU MATHAN has got back on track since the visor was applied, opening his chase account over C&D in July and matching that form when runner-up back here on Saturday. He holds solid claims turned out quickly. Fellow chase winner Forcing Bull has been given more of a break following his last run and he's feared, along with Supposedtobe, who remains open to improvement in this sphere.
