Landed a 6f Nottingham maiden prior to a respectable sixth in Group 3 on final start as a 2-y-o. Hasn't really kicked on in handful of outings this season and whilst her mark is easing, others arrive with more pressing claims.

Firmly back on track when winning at Newbury (7f) in June and he showed improved form when following up over that trip at Yarmouth 8 days ago, in control final 1f. Escapes a penalty for that success and already proven his effectiveness for 6f. Lots to like.

Shaped particularly well when second at Haydock (7f) 3 starts back and having disappointed next time, he proved most dominant when making all in a C&D novice (good to soft) 2 weeks ago, drawing clear over 1f out. Quicker surface will hold no fears and respected back in a handicap.

Has tasted success twice this season, proving determined returned to this trip when bagging 9-runner Thirsk handicap in June. Creditable third from this revised mark at Redcar (5f) subsequently and he's not discounted back up in trip.

Success as a juvenile came at 5f and he hasn't really threatened in trio of starts in handicaps since the spring, weakening over 1f out when fifth of 6 in handicap at Newmarket (6f, good to firm) 28 days ago. Cheekpieces go on now.

Son of Showcasing who was successful on second of his 3 starts as a 2-y-o. Easy to back and shaped as if he'd come on for his reappearance/handicap debut effort at Beverley (5f) 3 weeks ago. However, he will need to step forward to play a lead role back up in trip.

Son of Al Kazeem who ran best race on qualifying run when sixth of 12 in a C&D maiden 26 days ago. Handicaps rate more suitable now and feasible to think he could do better.

Forecasts

Daring Legend (15/8), Tourist (5/2), Kings Merchant (10/3), Myal (9/1), Nazalan (11/1), Exponista (22/1), Showhound (33/1)

Verdict

DARING LEGEND (due to be 6 lb higher in future) supplemented his Newbury victory in the style of one with more to offer at Yarmouth 8 days ago and, with the return to sprinting holding no fears, he's very much of interest in his hat-trick bid. Tourist, following his dominant C&D novice victory 2 weeks ago, rates the chief threat returned to handicaps, ahead of another in-form sort, Kings Merchant.
