3/1

Bounced back to his best reverted to fences when winning a 6-runner handicap chase at Hexham (15.6f, good, 7/2) 29 days ago. Went close from this mark at Carlisle on chasing debut, so has to be respected.

Forcing Bull^t¹³

Age: 7| Weight: 11-1| J: B S Hughes| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 112| D

3/1

Proven mudlark seemed to relish the conditions sent chasing when winning 4-runner handicap at Uttoxeter (20f, soft, 6/1) on debut over fences 13 days ago. 4 lb rise is manageable but quicker conditions will pose a different question.

Form: 10/PP-51

The Gypsy Davey¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 10-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR: 109

9/4

Point winner who defied a penalty to make it 2 from 2 over hurdles at Hereford in January. Has also made an encouraging start to his chasing career, unfortunate to bump into a handicap blot when runner-up at Perth (20.1f, good to firm) 18 days ago, and he should go well again.

Form: 111-332

Toronet¹⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-6| J: G Sheehan| T: L Morgan| OR: 103

12/1

Winner of a French claiming hurdle last February. Probably needed the run after 5 months off when ninth of 14 in handicap hurdle at Worcester (20f, good, 28/1) 14 days ago but likely need a signifcant step forward to make a winning start over fences.

Form: 1/7434-9

Cuzco Du Mathan^v²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 10-5| J: Charlotte Jones⁽³⁾| T: James Moffatt| OR: 102| CD

7/2

Bolted up over hurdles here last August but little to shout about in a pair of outings since, including when sixth of 7 in handicap chase (22/1) at this course (21.2f, good) over his UK debut over fences 24 days ago. Others preferred.

Forecasts

The Gypsy Davey (9/4), Lipa K (9/4), Carcaci Castle (3/1), Forcing Bull (3/1), Cuzco Du Mathan (7/2), Toronet (12/1)

THE GYPSY DAVEY has made an encouraging start to his chasing career and can go one better than when meeting a particularly well-handicapped rival at Perth last time. Lipa K has won both starts over fences to this point and may well have completed the hat-trick if not unseaung over hurdles last time, so has to be respected, with recent Hexham winner also a major player.
