Point winner and also second in a bumper. Much improved from hurdling debut when landing a 19f Warwick maiden in April and would have defied a penalty at Uttoxeter but for a late lapse in concentration (in control when fell last). However, proved to be a big disappointment at Fontwell alst time.

Bred to stay well but clearly not short on speed as she won a brace of bumpers fitted with cheekpieces in the spring and has also looked a good prospect when winning both starts over hurdles, including against the geldings at Uttoxeter (19.9f) last time. Has more to offer and difficult to oppose.

Fairly useful handicapper on Flat, stays 1¾m, run best excused last time. Has the ability to have a say if taking to this discipline.

Forecasts

Gale Mahler (8/11), Letterston Lily (2/1), Gwash (12/1), Chillhi (14/1), Wotnowcato (18/1), Diamond Tiki (50/1)

Verdict

GALE MAHLER has continued her fine work in bumpers over hurdles and she's taken to extend her winning sequence to 5 with further improvement on the cards. Letterston Lily had plenty in hand when making a successful debut in this sphere at Cartmel recently and seems likely to improve, while Chillhi, a fairly useful performer on the Flat, has the ability to have a say if taking to this new discipline.
