Off time: 16:40 | Winning time: 5m 9.90s

Quoi De Neuf^p,t⁵⁴

Age: 10| Weight: 11-13| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR: 117| D

14/1

Returned to winning ways in 4-runner handicap chase at Fakenham (21.2f) last summer but is becoming increasingly unreliable and was tailed off on return to action in May.

Form: 0926P-4

Imperial Bede³³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-11| J: R P McLernon| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 115| D

7/1

French bumper/hurdles winner who ran out a ready winner on chase debut at Southwell (20.4f) in February. Yet to build on that, finishing tailed-off last at Market Rasen (17.2f, good) last month. Back up in trip and needs to get his act together.

Form: F42-447

Golfe Clair⁶⁹

Age: 8| Weight: 11-10| J: Joe Williamson⁽³⁾| T: P A Kirby| OR: 114| D

4/1

Fairly useful winning hurdler in 2021/22 and made a successful debut over fences after 12 weeks off at Stratford (22.6f) in May, jumping well in the main. Can prove as good over fences if standing up to racing and should go well again up 4 lb.

Form: 21/653-1

Trapista⁶⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-9| J: Jonjo O'Neill Jr.| T: J & A O'Neill| OR: 113| D

9/2

Thriving at present, completing a hat-trick with a last-gasp success at Ludlow (20f, good to firm) a couple of months ago, almost certainly much better treated than the head margin implied. 3 lb rise certainly manageable so she's high on the shortlist.

Form: 5601-11

Imac Wood^t³⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-6| J: Chris Ward⁽³⁾| T: Deborah Cole| OR: 110| D

11/4

Three chase wins last season but not at best on his last 3 starts, back hurdling latest.

Form: 131P-66

Deerstalker^p1,t⁵⁹

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: Ben Jones| T: B Pauling| OR: 106| BF

3/1

Narrowly denied in 18.5f handicap hurdle at Stratford in April. Strong in the betting so chase debut there a couple of months ago was a shade disappointing. Cheekpieces go on and more needed.

Form: 0/44P2-4

Forecasts

Imac Wood (11/4), Deerstalker (3/1), Golfe Clair (4/1), Trapista (9/2), Envious Editor (5/1), Imperial Bede (7/1), Bagheera Ginge (8/1), Quoi De Neuf (14/1)

A few in with a squeak but it's hard to ignore the claims of TRAPISTA, who is thriving at present and can bring up the 4-timer returning from a short break. The main danger may emerge from Golfe Clair, who made a winning chasing debut at Stratford in May and is open to improvement in this sphere. Stable-switcher Envious Editor can edge out Deerstalker for minor honours.
