Promising sort. 1 win from 1 run this year. Won 7-runner maiden (5/6) at Ripon (1¼m, good to firm) 47 days ago, always holding on. Up in trip. Should improve.

Only ninth of 13 in 1¼m Sandown maiden on debut 3 weeks ago but went off at only 9/4 so presumably capable of better for a top stable which won this with the smart Sweet William in these silks last year.

Promising type. 12/1, first run since leaving Paddy Twomey when sixth of 11 in maiden at Salisbury (1½m, good to firm) 24 days ago. The reopposing Crown of Light was ahead in third but this Waldgeist colt still looked in need of the experience and likely has bigger performances in him.

Forecasts

Sea Regal (11/8), French Master (11/4), Crown Of India (11/4), Regal Connection (14/1), Northern Choice (25/1), Pagan Sun (28/1), Haderach (28/1), Catalan King (40/1), Hardy Bloke (66/1), Chocolate Hobbnob (100/1), Oosterpark (150/1)

Verdict

William Haggas won this with a filly in the Sunderland Holding silks a couple of years and can repeat the feat with SEA REGAL, who won nicely over 1¼m at Ripon last time and should have more to come now moving up in trip. The Normandie Stud colours were carried to victory in this by Sweet William 12 months ago so don't be surprised to see French Master leave his debut effort well behind. Crown of India looks best of the rest.
