Never Ordinary At bet365 Novices' Hurdle (GBB Race)

Off time: 13:20 | Winning time: 5m 2.80s

Paddy De Pole^p¹⁸

Age: 6| Weight: 11-12| J: Freddie Gingell⁽³⁾| T: P F Nicholls| OR: 117| BF| D

10/3

Lightly-raced sort who has improved plenty in handicaps in recent months, defying another small rise in the weights when bringing up the hat-trick at Hereford (19.7f). Third from revised mark upped to 25.8f last time and he can make his presence felt.

Form: 7511-13

Speed Davis^p1³³

Age: 6| Weight: 11-8| J: Theo Gillard| T: D McCain Jnr| OR: 113

8/1

Irish/point bumper winner who landed maiden at Musselburgh (17.4f) in April. Solid efforts under a penalty both starts since and no reason why he won't give his running again.

Form: 6/121-42

Gentlieman Ross^p1,h⁹⁶

Age: 7| Weight: 11-2| J: James Best| T: Ella Pickard

200/1

Hasn't completed in 2 Taunton contests.

Form: UP-

Lucky Stripe²⁴

Age: 6| Weight: 11-2| J: J Martin⁽⁵⁾| T: S G Allen

200/1

Yorgunnabelucky gelding. Half-brother to fair hurdler So Many Roads. Dam, winning pointer, half-sister to fairly useful 3m hurdle winner Teeton Babysham. Unplaced completed starts in points and never a factor in a 2m novice recently.

Form: 7/UP-P

Scottish King⁴³

Age: 8| Weight: 11-2| J: Philip Armson⁽³⁾| T: R J Armson

22/1

Maiden pointer but showed something to work on both starts over hurdles during the spring. Likely has a bigger performance in him at some point.

Form: 3645/5-3

Gale Mahler^p²³

Age: 5| Weight: 11-1| J: Henry Brooke| T: A Keatley

11/8

Bred to stay well but clearly not short on speed as she won a brace of bumpers fitted with cheekpieces in the spring. Continued the good work on hurdles debut at Market Rasen 3 weeks ago (value for extra) and there's plenty more to come.

Form: 4-111

Flying Fortune¹⁰⁴

Age: 5| Weight: 10-9| J: James Bowen| T: P & M Bowen| OR: 109| BF

2/1

Dual-bumper winner who ran her best race over hurdles switched to a handicap when second in 6-runner event at Southwell (20.4f) in March. Open to further improvement and has leading claims.

Form: 1/16252-

Kuma Beach³⁹

Age: 4| Weight: 10-3| J: Adam Wedge| T: L Morgan

200/1

Well held in bumper/brace of maiden hurdles.

Form: 7-86

Forecasts

Gale Mahler (11/8), Flying Fortune (2/1), Paddy De Pole (10/3), Speed Davis (8/1), Scottish King (22/1), Lucky Stripe (200/1), Kuma Beach (200/1), Gentlieman Ross (200/1)

GALE MAHLER carried on the excellent work from bumpers when a smooth scorer at Market Rasen 3 weeks ago and, sure to progress, she can maintain her winning sequence. Flying Fortune is a major player back in a novice, with Paddy de Pole also considered.
